Juvederm™
JUVEDERM™ is the latest dermal filler advance from Allergan Inc. JUVEDERM™ is a "next generation" smooth gel, non-animal dermal filler offering a natural look & feel and long-lasting results for up to a year or longer. JUVEDERM™ dermal filler lasts long because it's the only dermal filler currently available with the highest concentration of hyaluronic acid and a special formulation process. This process creates a smooth gel that flows easily into the skin, creating smooth, natural looks. JUVÉDERM® XC is manufactured using HYLACROSS™ technology, creating a smooth-consistency gel. It is infused with lidocaine to improve comfort during treatment. With JUVÉDERM® XC you get the smooth results you expect, with the improved comfort you want. What is a Hyaluronic Acid? Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in your skin. Its job is to help provide fullness and elasticity. Over time, skin loses hyaluronic acid and as it diminishes, skin looses volume, increasing the chances for wrinkles and folds to appear. Where does Juvederm XC work? Everyone’s skin ages differently and JUVÉDERM® XC may be used to rejuvenate multiple problem areas. From smile lines to vertical lip lines, you can smooth away unwanted wrinkles and restore natural contours. What are the possible side effects of Juvederm XC? JUVÉDERM® XC injectable gel is generally well tolerated. Most side effects are mild to moderate in nature and their duration is short lasting (7 days or less). The most common side effects include, but are not limited to, temporary injection site reactions such as redness, pain/tenderness, firmness, swelling, lumps/bumps, bruising, itching, and discoloration. As with all skin injection procedures, there is a risk of infection. Hyaluronic acid fillers are generally biocompatible, which means allergy skin testing is not required prior to treatment. Post-treatment considerations Dr. Reichner and his staff will tell you what to expect following treatment with JUVÉDERM® injectable gel. You should ask Dr. Reichner or his medical professional staff when makeup may be applied after your treatment. You should avoid the following for at least 24 hours after treatment:
Exposure to any of the above may cause temporary redness, swelling, and/or itching at the injection sites. If there is swelling, you may need to place an ice pack over the swollen area. Be sure to report any redness and/or visible swelling that lasts for more than a few days or any other symptoms that cause you concern to Spa Aesthetica.
