WHAT IS JUVÉDERM®?

WHAT IS JUVÉDERM® XC?

JUVÉDERM® XC is a dermal filler product used to address reduction in skin elasticity. It helps in smoothing out a wide variety of moderate to severe parentheses lines and other wrinkles around your nose and mouth. It can also add lip volume to thin lips.

WHERE IS JUVÉDERM® ULTRA XC USED?

JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC is primarily designed to act as a lip filler, adding fullness to the lips and plumping the lips. It can also soothe and correct moderate to severe parentheses lines and other wrinkles in adults.

WHERE IS JUVÉDERM® ULTRA PLUS XC USED?

JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus XC can address moderate to severe wrinkles, including the nasolabial folds that stretch from the corners of the nose to the corners of the mouth. It is able to fill these deeper age lines and folds because of its larger particle size.

What is Hyaluronic Acid?

The JUVÉDERM® collection of fillers is made from hyaluronic acid (HA). HA is a natural substance in the skin that delivers nutrients, helps the skin retain moisture and softness, and adds volume. It works by attracting moisture within the skin and binding to the water molecules, which in turn restores volume to the targeted areas.

Each product in the JUVÉDERM® collection of fillers is made from a modified form of HA. After injection, these products gradually safely dissolve within the skin tissues.

AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE?

Patients who want to reduce the visibility of moderate and harsh signs of aging are the ideal candidates for JUVÉDERM® treatments. Realistic expectations are key.

Anyone suffering from skin infections or still healing from fresh wounds on the targeted areas will need to address these before JUVÉDERM® treatment. This can be discussed during a consultation.

YOUR CONSULTATION

Before a JUVÉDERM® treatment, patients will need to schedule a consultation. During the visit, patients will learn all about their treatment options and how they can address their cosmetic concerns. Questions about the patient’s medical history and health will also be brought up, along with their expectations.

If patients have questions or are in need of additional details pertaining to the treatment, they can bring them up during the consultation. This is also the best time to inquire about the cost of the treatment.

HOW DOES THE TREATMENT PROCESS WORK?

JUVÉDERM® injections are a minimally invasive procedure. Since there are few requirements pre-injection, the procedure can be done on the same day as your consultation. However, if you have underlying health conditions, have recently been smoking or drinking, or are taking certain medications, the doctor should be notified during the consultation.

The procedure can take anywhere between fifteen minutes to an hour to complete, depending on the targeted areas and the results you want to achieve. The results of a single injection can last anywhere from six months to a year before you need to get new filler injections.

How long do results last?

There is no lengthy recovery period involved with JUVÉDERM® treatments. Every session is quick, and patients can return to their regular activities right away. Minor swelling, redness, and bruising may be present at the injection sites but will ameliorate shortly.
